What SB220 Covers

SB220 was signed on May 12, 2026, and became effective July 1, 2026. Known as the Putting Georgia’s Patients First Act, the bill updates the framework around medical cannabis across the state.

At a high level, it renames the terminology from “low THC oil” to “medical cannabis” throughout Georgia cannabis laws. It also replaces the old percentage-based limit with a new total-possession amount limit and revises the list of conditions reviewed under the program.

As part of the terminology update, the bill tightens how licensed providers, such as True Bliss, may communicate about their products. All information shared with patients must stay accurate and non-promotional.

What This Means for Registered Patients

For Georgians already enrolled in the state program, SB220 taking effect means the patient registry will begin using the new terminology right away. Patients who were previously ineligible for the program may now qualify, since the list of approved conditions has grown broader.

Visitors to our medical dispensary Atlanta location, along with dispensaries in other Georgia cities, will also be able to purchase medical cannabis products under the new limits. While browsing the shelves, you’ll notice fresh terminology and an updated product lineup that reflect the law’s requirements.

How True Bliss Is Adapting

True Bliss stays current on every update from the state Commission, so each time you visit our dispensary, you can trust that we remain fully compliant with all applicable rules. To stay aligned with Atlanta GA cannabis program requirements, as laid out in SB220, we’re revising how we describe our products and updating the wellness lineup we carry.

Going forward, when our staff helps you select the right option for your goals, we’ll use approved, program-compliant language rather than the recreational phrasing you may be used to. Our commitment to sharing accurate information predates SB220’s requirements, and now that accuracy is backed directly by law.
